Journal Register Company

Journal Register Company (JRC): Publishes about 25 daily newspapers and over 300 non – daily papers. Carries a lot of debt. For the last ten years has earned good returns on equity, capital, and assets.

On February 15, 2006 I wrote "An Analysis of the Journal Register Company (JRC)".

Private Capital Management has about a 12% stake in the company (or at least had a 12% stake in the company as of fall of 2005). PCM is Bruce Sherman’s outfit.

On April 21, 2005 Seth Jayson at the Motley Fool wrote an article on the Journal Register Company entitled “Value in Crumpled Newspaper”.
